Communities In Schools of Philadelphia, Inc. works in close partnership with the School District of Philadelphia to provide services to prevent and reduce the rate of school dropouts and better prepare students for the challenges of the world of work. CISP leverages community resources of behalf of students and their families, serving over 10,000 students per year.

The Culinary & Hospitality Program enriches public school Family and Consumer Science curricula by teaching basic culinary techniques needed for entry-level jobs in the industry. The program serves over 1000 students annually within 17 comprehensive and vocational high schools.

“My Compliments to the Chef” is the Culinary & Hopitality Program’s major fund-raising event. It provides our guests with a delectable, energizing and unforgettable culinary tasting experience at an affordable price.  Proceeds benefit the CHP Scholarship Program.

Friends of CISP is an exclusive prelude to the annual “My Compliments to the Chef” event. It features a Philadelphia Iron Chef Challenge that offers participants an opportunity to witness celebrity judges at a live competition while enjoying other complimentary treats.  What a wonderful lead-in to the fund-raising gala.
